Trees

Trees offer a presence that is immobile yet constantly changing.

Their appearance varies with the seasons, from the tender young leaves of spring to the warm colours of autumn.

Some are covered with delicate flowers, others bear fruits that appear discreetly before becoming visible and recognisable.

Each time of year reveals a different facet of their character.

We do not look at trees as often as we do other subjects, yet they always catch my attention through their texture, their shapes and their way of occupying space.

Their natural evolution, slow and steady, contrasts with my more spontaneous practice of close-up and macro photography, focused on nearby details.

    The apricot tree

    These photographs were taken in March 2025, at the very beginning of spring, when the tree was just starting to wake up after winter. What makes this tree particularly interesting is the presence of old apricot stones from the previous year. They had remained attached to the branches and survived the winter, acting as small witnesses of past production.
